English Today

Hi!

The theme today is our English class. I think English is very important to us like a professional people, therefore I think there are some important points that improve on the training we had in college.

In first, I think we need another way to measure our knowledge, I remember when I made the test my computer had no earphones, obviously my results were not expected for me.

Also I think English should be made in the first year of college, because in third and fourth grade academic load is higher, and many persons realize his professional practices.

I need to practice the basics aspects of English, as the use of pronouns and verb endings, maybe we could use an English book to support our learning.

I like hear some tracks in English and look for the lyrics in Spanish and English to understand the meaning of the song, and identify the pronunciations of words.

Also I like to see movies or TV series without subtitles and then watch them with subtitles to see if I understood was right

I think to speak in English is very important, but to do so we must practice every day and be consistent. It's great that the university teach us this language and require into the formation it offers, because we know that in this globalized world the knowledge of English and other languages ​​is very important.

My weekend

I today I’m feeling bad because I catch a cold, but don’t worry, I have a fantastic weekend!

My cousin, my brother and I plan a travel to Valparaíso for this large weekend, because my brother Sebastian study and live there.

My cousin, Claudio live in Puerto Montt, but despite the distance he is very close to us, for this reason we seemed a good idea spend the weekend together.

We arrived to Valparaíso Thursday morning, the weather was cold but we lunch in the house and go out to go across the city. This day we went to Paseo 21 de mayo, Cerro Alegre and Cerro Concepción, the most touristic part of the city. We want to travel in elevator, a traditional attraction in the city, but the employees to municipality was on strike and the elevators were close.

We walked a lot that day, but anyway go out this night. We went to saw Sonora de Llegar in a bar of the city, that was very very fun.

On Friday, we go out to walking for the city again and in the night, we prepared micheladas and something to eat in the house.

On Saturday we got up early and went to the flea market on Avenida Argentina also to the antique fair and to Victoria Bar to eat chorrillana, according to some newspapers “The best in Valparaíso”, and I think is true, although I only eat French fries, onion and egg, because I don’t eat meat. That day was sunny and we went to the beach to take sun.

Although I feel bad and with my cold be dying, I think this weekend was very funny; I have great times whit Seba and Claudio. I love these guys! 

Go green!

Hi everybody!

Today the question is, how green are you? And I think I’m not as ecological as I would like.

In first I think the kids is the future, we need to educate our children to learn to care for the environment and be responsible with it. Because now is difficult for adults to change their bad habits.

In my house I separate the technological garbage, and my family recycles white paper, soda or beer cans and glass bottles. Although my parents are careful with the oil in the kitchen, for example they never throw away down the sink. My mom always worries about turning off lights that are not being used.

For the big distances we don’t use the bike to move every day, but when I can walk I do it, I really love it, especially in spring.

I don’t participate in eco-organizations, but always see on internet veoverde.com or ecocosas.com, but I signed up for causes like Patagonia without dams or other environmentally worried.

I think my main contribution to the environment is not eating meat, is something small but important to me, because it is a conscious decision.

I think the society in general needs to be more aware of your actions, think of others, and especially in animals, because they are ours little brothers and we have to protected it, starting with something as basic as responsible pet ownership.

Santa Feria

Hello everyone!

I will write about music over again and like last time, I will talk about a Chilean group that I really like.

The band is Santa Feria. Since I first heard it I love it.

This band play cumbia principally, they born in 2008 and is compound for ten musicians between percussionist, strings and wind instruments, they are from Santiago.

I like this band because they music is very happy and entertaining. I really like go to concerts or parties with Santa Feria music, because I can dance and sing a lot.

They first album is “Le traigo cumbia” of 2011 (desktop publishing), and they have thirteen songs. These albums have sounds like “cumbia villera” and the most famous songs are “Sakate 1” y “Don Satán”. They second and last album, until now, is “Lo que va a pasar” (desktop publishing) launch in May of 2013 in a really big party in Matucana 100. These album have eleven songs and is difficult to me choose the best, because I love all the songs. I listen this album all day, in my pen drive or my computer. Until my little sister knows the songs!

Artic 30

This new is about 30 Greenpeace activists under arrest in Russia, principally the concern for the health for these persons.

The prisoners are 28 Greenpeace activists and two journalists, and they come from 18 countries in total.

In Russia, they are imprisons in a lonely prison 23 hours in a day, they have only one hour to leave the cells and realize exercises; some persons are in “extremely cold” cells.

This activists protest in September in opposed to a Oil platform in the Artic ocean, because this will be the first drilling in the Barents Sea. These persons are in a pretrial detention, for two months, before confronted with charges for piracy. If they are found guilty, they could be in prison for 15 years.

Alexandra Harris is one of the prisoners, and she get sick this month and she was taken to the hospital, but the doctors said she didn’t treatment.

Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, defended the actions of the guard coast, but he said "I don't know the details of what went on, but it's completely obvious they aren't pirates".

Greenpeace said today, that it would be filing a criminal complaint with Russian police. Also last weekend, Vigils were held around the world to free the "Arctic 30", with celebrities including actor Jude Law and musician Damon Albarn joining an estimated 800 people who gathered outside the Russian embassy in London.

One of my favorite bands

Today I’m going to write about my favorite thing in world, music!

But is not all the music, for this time I choose only one band. My father is music teacher, for this reason I listen music since I was a little girl, especially Chilean music.

Is difficult to me choose between all bands that I love, the most of they are of cumbia and dance music, and are Chilean bands! I really like go to concerts or parties with bands.

In this moment I like many bands, but my favorite is "Sonora de Llegar", I know this band in a concert of other band that I like "Chico Trujillo". "Sonora de Llegar" is a mixture of rhythms; principally they play rock and ska.

They are Chilean, from Villa Alemana. I like this band because is entertaining and their songs have rhythm with contents. When I see this band I dance and sing a lot, is very liberating.

They last album is “Asalto al país de nunca Jamaika”, in it they perform their own versions of classics song of Jamaican music. For this reason in this album the rhythm is most near to the reggae music unlike their previous works.

Welcome to Mexico

There are many countries that I would like to visit. But since i was a children Mexico caught my attention, i don't know exactly for what. But they history and culture I find it very attractive.

Always liked the history of southamerica, and I think Mexico is the cultural cradle of continent.

And besides i love beach, and there are beautiful beaches in Mexico.

I like to go to Riviera Maya, in the southwest of Mexico, because is a perfect mixture of Maya’s culture and a beautiful place. And is not only they ancient history, because in Mexico born big artist like Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera or David Alfaro Siqueiros. Obviously if I go to Mexico I would to visit La casa azul, a museum of Frida. And I really like to participate in a celebration of the day of deaths, I think the death is a delicate theme, but is very nice and happy as they they live over there.

I think I like Mexico like a tourist, not to live, maybe to study for a semester o a year. Because I want to travel a much as I can.
